Abstract

Tesis (Magíster en Ciencias de la Ingeniería)--Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, 2014 ; En los últimos años, los videojuegos educativos se han convertido en una herramienta de enseñanza popular considerando su capacidad de motivar al estudiante en la tarea. Diversos trabajos han desarrollado modelos y guías para la creación de videojuegos educativos que simultáneamente permitan enseñar como entretener. Lograr el equilibrio entre estos dos componentes (objetivos pedagógicos y elementos lúdicos) no es una tarea fácil. Con este fin, el presente trabajo describe un modelo para apoyar el diseño de videojuego educativo cuya idea central es la necesidad que la metáfora del juego debe coincidir con el concepto a enseñar. El proceso de diseño presentado se aplicó a un videojuego para la enseñanza de óptica, demostrando en un estudio comparativo cuasi-experimental que alineando la componente lúdica y pedagógica, se logran juegos pedagógicos efectivos que a la vez permiten mantener la motivación y el interés del alumno durante el proceso de aprendizaje. El trabajo termina ilustrando como mecánicas de juegos populares ya existentes se alinean con contenidos pedagógicos.
