Complementación y sustitución cíclica del empleo informal en economías pequeñas y abiertas

Abstract

Tesis (Magíster en Economía)--Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, 2017 ; El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo identificar en qué medida el shock de productividad agregado y el shock de productividad sectorial explican la ciclicidad del empleo formal e informal en una economía pequeña y abierta que exhibe desempleo. Para ello se elabora un modelo DSGE con dos sectores (formal e informal) y mercados laborales con fricciones de búsqueda. La principal conclusión, es que diferenciar los shocks de productividad agregados de los shocks de productividad sectoriales permite evaluar de forma correcta la ciclicidad del empleo formal e informal. Si ocurre un shock de productividad agregado el empleo informal será procíclico (complementación cíclica), pero si ocurre un shock de productividad sectorial el empleo informal será contracíclico (sustitución cíclica).
