Abstract

Desde la segunda mitad del siglo XX se ha venido incrementando la presion sobre los recursos naturales, generada por su creciente uso y explotacion para producir bienes para dar respuestas a las demandas de una poblacion cada dia mayor. La presion sobre los recursos esta destruyendo la base de sustentabilidad misma de los recursos, necesaria para asegurar su desarrollo y la capacidad de ser utilizados por las generaciones futuras. Existen dentro de este tema diversas aristas, tales como los procesos de deforestacion y erosion de suelos, perdida de recursos acuicolas, uso de recursos energeticos, creciente densidad urbana e industrial, contaminacion ambiental y el aumento de los riesgos ecologicos
