Agricultura urbana en barbecho. Concepciones en la planificación urbana chilena

Abstract

La protección de la agricultura productiva intra y extraurbana es uno de los principales retos de la planificación territorial en la actualidad. Este artículo se pregunta cómo la planificación urbana chilena, que se enfoca dentro del límite urbano, ha concebido la agricultura productiva a lo largo del tiempo. Para alcanzar este objetivo se recurre al análisis descriptivo e interpretativo de la evolución de los instrumentos de planificación territorial de cinco casos chilenos en los que la agricultura urbana ha sido protegida, identificando los métodos empleados e interpretando las razones argumentadas. Los resultados revelan que, si bien la agricultura fue concebida especialmente a nivel local como un uso urbano, los cambios de la legislación chilena han conducido a concebir esta actividad como transitoria y en barbecho para su transformación en otros usos urbanos más rentables de forma irremediable.
