Abstract

Mucho se ha escrito sobre la libertad de prensa, pero, poco sobre la independencia de ésta y aunque son términos afines no son siempre sinónimos. Así, en un país democrático un diario puede gozar de libertad de prensa, pero carecer de independencia debido a presiones, directas o indirectas, de índole política o económica. Puede el gobierno respetar la libertad de prensa, pero un diario oficial o de un partido político no podrá ser independiente, ya que dependerá de las consignas oficiales o de las directivas partidistas...
