A&E staff at Leeds General Infirmary recently tested the hospital's new helipad, constructed on top of its new £92 million Jubilee building. The trials, involving an RAF helicopter, were designed to test run the safety of the helipad, as well as ensure noise levels were not too high for local residents. At the moment, patients who are airlifted to the hospital by helicopter land on Woodhouse Moor or at the nearby airport before being ferried to A&E by ambulance.
