The background of this article is the Covid- 19 pandemic, and its impact on quality of the clinical placement for students. The aim was to explore student’s experiences with clinical placement, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The article has a qualitative design with digital interviews. The analysis resulted in three major themes: unclear guidelines, a change in everyday study life and variations in learning outcomes. This article indicates that the Covid-19 pandemic affected the quality of the clinical placement for the students in a noticeable way. The student`s experiences shed a light on the already existing challenges posed by traditionally conducted clinical placement, such as clearly defined responsibilities, follow-up and enough training in sufficiently similar situations to those encountered in their future occupation. Despite these challenges, most of the students finished their clinical placement, learning valuable lessons from the specific circumstances caused by the pandemic.
