The term "mobbing" migrated to European countries from Scandinabia in the early 1990s. It has been recently studied in Colombia as an interpretation of the persistent, offensive, abusive, intimidating, malicious or insulting behavior and the abuse of power which makes the person feel upset, threatened, humiliated or vulnerable. It undermines their self-confidence and causes them anxiety. In order to contribute to the prevention and constructive management of this problem, this article provides information related to it's causes and consequences and also suggest some ideas about prevention in organizational and individual levels.
