Based on the study of some literary works, the article offers a panoramic view of the "years of the Violence". It is an interpretation that seeks to complement the work that has been done in the social sciences related to the actors, behaviors and reasons to be in confrontation. It is proposed as the analytic category and the central component of the novels evoked the concept of the hate as political factor. After a summary and a contextualization of the novels used, the article questions the role played by the hate in the configuration of party identities and the self-defense guerrillas. It finds that the politics, besides the violence, passes for the institution of communities founded in hatred.
