Abstract

Nel titolo e nel testo del capolavoro del primo grande storico del Mediterraneo (Fernand Braudel, La Méditerranée et le Monde méditerranéen) sono stati posti espressamente la distinzione e insieme l’inscindibile rapporto fra i due termini, Mediterraneo come Mare, bacino geografico, regione geografica, e Mondo mediterraneo, come area geo-politica e storico-culturale connessa al Mare mediterraneo e segnata dal patrimonio delle diverse civiltà, sviluppatesi attraverso un percorso strettamente connesso fra tutte in un costante intreccio di vicende storiche. Nei termini e in considerazione dell’attuale carta geopolitica, il Mondo mediterraneo è costituito dall’intera Europa, da tutti i paesi arabi, dalla Turchia e da Israele.
