Relazioni sociali, norme sociali e fiducia: un'analisi sulla letteratura empirica

Abstract

Il lavoro fornisce una rassegna della letteratura empirica relativa alle relazioni tra il capitale sociale e gli outcomes economici, quali la crescita e le istituzioni formali. Esso sviluppa una definizione di capitale sociale costituita da relazioni sociali, norme sociali e fiducia e sostiene che il capitale sociale condiziona gli esiti economici come input produttivo o mediante i costi di transazione. Inoltre, esso prova a verificare che tale definizione inclusiva di capitale sociale sia compatibile con una ipotesi di robustezza concettuale. Infine, il lavoro valuta se i prilcipali lavori empirici subiscano i problemi econometrici sollevati da Durkauf. La conclusione è che tali problematiche vadano considerate con maggiore attenzione in lavori futuri.
