
Comprender el pensar humano bajo la forma de un mecanismo, y buscar en el pensamiento la nota distintiva de lo humano, han sido dos tópicos tradicionales de la filosofía. A mediados del siglo veinte la convivencia de ambas ideas se hace tensa, pues el computador digital es visto como mecanismo modélico del pensar humano. ¿Dónde buscar ahora la peculiaridad de lo humano?, ¿o habría que suprimir dicha peculiaridad? El presente trabajo recorre algunas respuestas a estas cuestiones (Daniel Dennett, Jean Baudrillard, John Searle) y propone un modo alternativo de sostener la peculiaridad humana sin buscarla allende la racionalidad.
