Las cuevas heladas ante el cambio climático

Abstract

Los cambios provocados por el aumento de temperaturas en el contexto actual del cambio global afectan a los ecosistemas compositivos de las altas montañas, con especial afección en aquellos ambientes que, por ser marginales, constituyen exponentes altamente sensibles en cualquiera de sus parámetros climáticos. Es el caso de las montañas más altas de la península ibérica, en las que la criosfera resiste bajo condiciones topoclimáticas específicas. La tendencia regresiva generalizada de sus hielos deja un escenario oculto pero igualmente afectado: las cuevas heladas. Se exponen aquí las principales afecciones de la última década y media en las cuevas heladas de los Picos de Europa, y se presenta su importancia, la pérdida por el retroceso de sus hielos y cuáles son sus patrones de cambio.
