Abstract

En este trabajo analizamos la vida De sancto Adriano que recoge Vorágine en su Legenda aurea, CXXVIII, y prestamos particular atención al personaje de Natalia, la esposa del santo, que tiene un singular protagonismo en el relato y es un claro ejemplo de cómo la hagiografía recoge tópicos y motivos de otros géneros literarios para «construir» como personajes a los modelos de santidad y hacerlos más familiares y cercanos. El análisis está dividido en tres secciones: las descripciones de los rasgos y cualidades del personaje, sus intervenciones en estilo directo y sus acciones. En cada una de estas secciones, llevamos a cabo, además, un análisis comparativo del texto latino con el de la tradición catalana (particularmente el del manuscrito P), con el objetivo de comprobar en qué medida es una traducción fiel del texto latino y si introduce cambios significativos en la caracterización del personaje de Natalia
