Des murs en brique

Des murs en brique

Abstract

In excerpts from a chapter of her book Living a Feminist Life (2017), the author shows how the body is the meeting point of the two facets of diversity work in an institutional context: the work we do when we aim to transform the norms of an institution, and the work we do when we do not fully inhabit those norms. By recounting a series of incidents that took place within academia, the author exposes the various « brick walls » that people who are not white, not male, not straight, not cis, not able-bodied, constantly come up against, they who are more likely to end up doing diversity work.
