Travers et traversées de la langue française remixée au Canada : du joual de Michel Tremblay, au chiac de France Daigle, au franglais de Marc Prescott et de Stéphane Oystryk

Abstract

Le contact continu entre l’anglais et le français au Canada a favorisé le développement de langues vernaculaires distinctes : le joual au Québec, le chiac en Acadie et lefranglaisau Manitoba français. Le succès littéraire de Michel Tremblay et de France Daigle, qui ont choisi le joual et le chiac respectivement, illustre comment l’hétérolinguisme peut être exploité comme vecteur de création. Au Manitoba, Marc Prescott et Stéphane Oystryk ont choisi d’écrire enfranglais : le premier dans la représentation théâtrale deSex, lies et les Franco-Manitobains(1993), le second dans son long métrageFM Youth(2014). Cette langue familière sert de tremplin pour sonder la prise de « conscience altéritaire de minoritaire » (Émir Delic) et agit comme prisme où se réfracte une dynamique conflictuelle complexe. Centrée sur des enjeux idéologiques, la rhétorique « remixée » de cette jeunesse, doublement marginalisée, révèle un repositionnement épistémologique important, celui d’une altérité assumée.
