Abstract

L’article propose une lecture de la pensée et des formes d’actualisation politique et culturelle d’un penseur du mouvement noir contemporain au Brésil, Abdias Nascimento. À travers les écrits politiques de cet auteur, il est possible de retracer les interprétations des actions privilégiées dans la lutte contre les discriminations qui ont suivi et suivent toujours l’expérience post-abolitionniste. L’adhésion à la pensée de la décolonisation puis à celle de l’afrocentrisme, et aussi à une version du panafricanisme qu’est le quilombisme (et dont il est l’auteur), n’a pas empêché cet intellectuel de la diaspora de penser l’émancipation depuis le continent latino-américain, et plus particulièrement depuis le Brésil. La perspective selon laquelle la fin de l’esclavage n’aurait pas eu lieu, leitmotiv du mouvement noir contemporain au Brésil et dont Nascimento est une figure fondatrice, permet l’établissement d’un parallèle entre les luttes du mouvement noir et celles du mouvement contre l’esclavage contemporain.
