Abstract

L’article étudie la relation au temps d’une peinture de Max Beckman intituléeTod([mort] 1938) et observe comment la textualité construit cet effet de sens. Le panneau s’inscrivant dans le contexte des années 1930, il recourt au procédé de la distanciation de Brecht (Verfremdung) et prend ses distances vis-à-vis du temps narratif de lastoria. Dans la perspective d’un temps narratif, l’effet de sens temporel est produit par l’aspectualisation, mais, en ce cas, le mouvement aspectuel est interrompu à chaque étape et la catégorie sémantique interrogée. L’effet de sens est alors donné par le rythme d’alternance du connu et de l’inconnu.
