Abstract

Cet article pose la question du commencement de l’intermédialité, non dans le but d’en repérer l’origine ou de retracer le développement historique de la pratique intermédiale, mais afin de saisir les implications épistémologiques du concept. Dans une première partie, l’auteur reprend la discussion du concept dans Qu’est-ce que la philosophie de Deleuze et Guattari pour montrer le périple que la conceptualisation (de l’intermédialité) dessine. L’enjeu n’est pas tellement d’arriver à répondre à la question « qu’est-ce que l’intermédialité? », mais d’apercevoir la dynamique que ce questionnement déclenche et dans laquelle il s’inscrit, ainsi que d’explorer l’intermédialité dans sa dimension non objectuelle. Dans une deuxième partie, l’article pose la question du sujet. Si les médias reconfigurent le monde habitable en manipulant la distance, en nous proposant des expériences cognitives « désobjectivantes », en pluralisant et en relativisant la vérité, qu’en est-il du sujet? Dans quelle mesure le commencement d’un concept, qui vient répondre à cette réalité, ouvrant des horizons inconnus, participe à, ou témoigne d’une métamorphose du sujet?
