Abstract

Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) es un microorganismo Gram negativo perteneciente a la familia de las Enterbacterias causante de múltiples infecciones de diferentes sitios anatómicos. Uno de los retos en los últimos años es la resistencia a los antibióticos y la producción de enzimas β-lactamasa de espectro extendido, además, se ha asociado a brotes de IAAS con alta mortalidad sobre todo en el área de neonatos, lo que representa un problema de salud pública mundial. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la incidencia de K. pneumoniae formadora de BLEE y biopelícula y su relación con infecciones adquiridas en la comunidad y las IAAS. Del año 2021-2025 se realizaron 26 000 cultivos de orina, de heridas y hemocultivos de los cuales, en 5 200 cultivos, se aisló cepas de K. pneumoniae, correspondiendo a 2 964 urocultivos, 1 456 cultivos de herida y 780 hemocultivos. Se encontró que 1 092 aislados de K. pneumoniae fueron productoras de BLEE y 2 220 fueron cepas multirresistentes. Concluyendo que K. pneumoniae ha evolucionado y ubicado como una bacteria de alta incidencia en IAAS e infecciones adquiridas en la comunidad, especialmente las infecciones por hvKP multirresistente (MDR-hvKP), provocando brotes con alta morbilidad y mortalidad.
