Abstract

O direcionamento do poder de compra do Estado no Brasil é o impulso necessário para uma produção mais sustentável na medida em que movimenta parte importante do Produto Interno Bruto (16%) e gera escala. O Estado é um dos maiores, se não o maior, dos contratantes permanentes de produtos, serviços e obras. Estima-se em R$ 320 bilhões o valor total dos contratos celebrados por órgãos e entidades estatais e paraestatais na economia do país. Já há uma série de mecanismos que permitem a adoção de critérios mais sustentáveis nas compras públicas. Mas a adoção desses parâmetros requer a construção de novos modelos de compras e uma nova atitude perante o cotidiano. No texto, destacamos o contexto e experiências de adoção de critérios para compras públicas mais sustentáveis.
