Abstract

This paper is an ethnotaxonomic research in an italian descending urban community from Sao Joao do Polesine, Depressao Central, Rio Grande do Sul, in the South Region of Brazil. It has been gotten 451 common names and a list of 285 species from 80 botanical families of vascular plants. The goal was the achievement of ethnotaxonomical data capable for suggesting the kinds of classification presents in the community.
