The aim of the present manuscript is to explore potential assumptions and commonalities that can be identified between the PCP and some principles of the Montessori’s approach to education and pedagogy. Maria Montessori is a key figure in developmental psychology: the so-called “Montessori education”, strongly emphasising the active role of the child in his/her own evolution, could be somehow considered as a quasi-constructivist approach to human development.
