#تعتبر هذه الورقة نوعًا ما من العمل الميداني القائم على الترجمات الفعلية التي أجراها طلاب السنة النهائية (المستوى 4) في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية بكلية الآداب في جامعة تعز. تم تزويد الطلاب بثمانية عشر مقطعًا باللغة العربية من مجالات مختلفة وطُلب منهم ترجمتها إلى اللغة الإنجليزية. تم توزيع المهمة على مدى تسعة أسابيع. يمكن القول إن الدراسة تتألف من جزئين: أولاً، تم تحديد وجمع وتصنيف أخطاء الترجمة. كان لهذا الجانب غرضان: التعرف على أنواع الأخطاء التي يقوم بها الطلاب وأيضًا تحديد طبيعة تكرار الأخطاء. ثانيًا، كان الهدف أيضًا تقديم طرق ووسائل لتقليل حدوث مثل هذه الأخطاء. وأخيرًا، تم تقديم توصيات. إذا تم تنفيذ هذه التوصيات، يُأمل في تحقيق نتائج أفضل. يجب أن يُذكر على سبيل الإشارة أن الدراسة في الأساس ليست ذات طابع نظري، ولكن التحليل يشير إلى ملاحظات نظرية مفيدة.
