Avances de la vinaza alcoholera como fertilizante de suelos para cultivo

Abstract

La intensificación de la producción agrícola soportada en el uso excesivo de agroquímicos ha impactado en una degradación del suelo agrícola, derivando en la infertilidad del suelo. La Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación estima que un tercio de la superficie de tierra mundial es utilizada como tierra de cultivo, en tal sentido, la prevención de la degradación y la recuperación de la fertilidad de los suelos degradados es una acción prioritaria, la cual, ha sido gestionada en los últimos cinco años con principios de Economía Circular. Para tal caso, el reaprovechamiento de agro-productos como la vinaza alcoholera, se presenta como una alternativa capaz de mejorar las propiedades químicas, físicas y biológicas del suelo. La regeneración de la fertilidad del suelo, mediante principios de Economía Circular, es un enfoque sustentable que contribuye al desarrollo de la agricultura, con lo cual se abona al logro de la seguridad alimentaria. Este artículo identifica los principales componentes de la vinaza de etanol de caña de azúcar, que pueden ser reaprovechados como elementos capaces de apoyar en la regeneración de la fertilidad de suelos, y en consecuencia el rendimiento de cultivos durante el periodo 2018-2022.
