Abstract

La conquista fascista de la sociedad civil implicó una compleja relación de herencia con el pasado y con la tradición asociativa ligada a las culturas políticas populares. El régimen fascista intentó una «nacionalización de las masas». Se creó una red capilar de organizaciones cara a recomponer los intereses sociales en forma corporativa (sindicato, cooperación, etc.), a través de un modelo fuertemente burocrático y jerarquizado. Ejemplo fue la actuación realizada por la Opera nazionale del dopolavoro, creada para la promoción del ocio y de actividades recreativo-culturales. El fascismo promovió también instituciones con el fin de organizar tanto a los jóvenes como a las mujeres, entrando en competencia con la Acción Católica. Estaban en juego la educación de los italianos y la construcción de una nueva clase política.
