
In March 2014, a salvage excavation was conducted at Tel Halif (Permit No. A-7074; map ref. 187099-127/587766-90), in the wake of an antiquities robbery. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was directed by A. Ganor, G. Fitoussi and G. Goldenberg, with the participation of inspectors from the Unit for the Prevention of Antiquities Robbery and personnel from the Inspection Department of the Israel Antiquities Authority. I. Horowitz, A. Rothstein, R. Lupu and R. Eliya participated in the excavation and D. Mashash (administration), E. Klein (drafting and field photography), S. Ganor and S. Gal provided additional assistance. Y. Garfinkel, E. Yannai, I. Milevski and A. Golani provided scientific guidance and D. Ben-Tor identified and dated the scarabs. No laborers were involved in the excavation.
