Abstract

During November 2007, a trial excavation was conducted in the west part of a kurkar ridge in the Ramat Aviv Gimel neighborhood of Tel Aviv (Permit No. A-5294; map ref. 180992-1105/670248-351), prior to construction. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the Gimel el Ha-Mayim and Ahuzot Ha-Hof Companies, was directed by E.C.M. van den Brink, with the assistance of S. Ya'aqov-Jam (administration), A. Hajian (surveying), T. Sagiv (field photography) and O. Ackermann (geomorphology). In addition, analysis of fraction-size distribution was conducted at the Field Service Laboratory of the regional agriculture research center in Zemah, in the Jordan valley.
