Abstract

In November 2011-February 2012, an excavation was conducted along the southern fringes of Tel Azor (Permit No. A-6308; map ref. 181668-700/659092-133; Fig. 1), prior to construction. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the P. Nahum Company, was directed by U. 'Ad, with the assistance of O. Segal, A. Tahan, M. Hatar and A. Golani (area supervision), Y. Amrani and E. Bachar (administration), V. Essman and Y. Shmidov (surveying), A. Peretz (photography). R. Berin (drafting), P. Gendelman (identification of Byzantine and Islamic ceramics), J. Neguer and R. Abu-Diab (conservation and transfer of mosaic) and the assistance of Y. Levi, M. Ajami and the contractor.
