In January-March 2008, archaeological inspections were carried out at the foot of the southern seawall in 'Akko (Permit No. A-5610; map ref. 207020-50/758500-42), as part of the engineering plan for the conservation and rehabilitation of the seawall at Hof Ha-Susim. The inspections, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Old Acre Development Company (Sheffer 2008) and financed by the Israel Lands Administration, were directed by J. Sharvit and D. Planer, with the assistance of U. Dahari and M. Bachar (underwater probe) and S. Ben Yehuda (drafting).
