The present article introduces the theoretical framework of Critical Travel Pedagogy, a new educational approach aimed at fostering active citizenship. Initially, the concept is defined, the theoretical foundation is outlined, and its connection to the teaching of Social and Political Education is highlighted. This is an innovative and autonomous pedagogical approach that emphasizes well-organized travel experiences. During these experiences, students engage with different cultures, explore social, historical, and political issues, and participate in experiential activities. The goal of Critical Travel Pedagogy is to cultivate critically thinking citizens who reconsider the interdependence between individual and social contexts, develop attitudes, and adopt values that contribute meaningfully to the establishment of a sustainable society. Its content seamlessly aligns with the new curricula for Social and Political Education in secondary education, and its implementation promotes rational social perception and political thought.
