Abstract

Sistemas integrados de produção agropecuária (iLP) podem contribuir para a atenuação do (σ’) em solos de classificação textural areia. Objetivou-se com esse estudo determinar o σ’ de três classes de solo sob iLP, localizados na zona úmida dos Tabuleiros Costeiros do Rio Grande do Norte. Determinou-se a umidade volumétrica (θ) em amostras de solo indeformadas provenientes de um Argissolo Vermelho Amarelo, um Neossolo Quartzarênico Órtico e um Neossolo Quartzarênico Órtico Típico, localizados em diferentes estratos de uma topossequência. Foram utilizados os |Ψ| de 60, 100, 330, 1000, 3000, 5000, 10000 e 15000 hPa, além da saturação do solo para determinar o σ’ e a frequência de poros do solo por tamanho. O Argissolo mostrou-se mais sensível ao aumento do σ’ do solo quando comparado aos Neossolos. O incremento do teor de argila nas camadas mais profundas do solo contribuiu para o aumento do estresse efetivo e, possivelmente da resistência à penetração do solo nos potenciais matriciais mais baixos, próximos à capacidade de campo. O Argissolo apresentou uma frequência de poros mais homogênea quando comparado aos Neossolos inclusive nos horizontes de transição entre as camadas superficiais e o material parental (Horizonte C). Os Neossolos apresentaram considerável quantidade de poros com diâmetro > 50 μm. Esse estudo contribuiu para o entendimento do funcionamento físico do solo, norteando práticas de manejo sustentável e a utilização de sistemas de irrigação eficientes e atenuar os problemas físicos relacionados aos solos arenosos como a baixa disponibilidade de água.
