Abstract

Spatio-seasonal composition of rotifer in a tilapiculture in the municipality of Glória (Bahia, Brazil) A B S T R A C T The study verified the spatial and seasonal variation of rotifer composition in a tilapiculture environment in the municipality of Glória, state of Bahia. Samplings were carried out in march, june, august and october 2019, in three specific stations (E1, E2 and E3), with the aid of a plankton net with a mesh size of 64μm. All species were identified with specific literature and soon after quantification calculations were performed. Twenty-seven taxa were identified, distributed in nine families, being the Lecanidae and Brachionidae families with more representatives for the composition of the organisms. Density had the highest peaks for the station close to the net tanks (E3) and the dry period recorded the highest density value, with the Keratella americana being the taxon that most contributed to this result, as well as in abundance, of which only K. americana presented high values. Only K. americana and Polyarthra sp. were very frequent, indicating a high trophic level for the environment, the same ecosystem showed low diversity for the rotifer assemblage, but it was equitable in most seasons. Thus, a variation in the composition of rotifer was noted, as well as the emphasis on the taxon Keratella americana. Keywords: Biodiversity; Fish farm; Zooplankton.
