PROSPECÇÃO FITOQUÍMICA DOS EXTRATOS DAS FOLHAS DE <i>Caesalpinia pyramidalis</i>

Abstract

Desde a antiguidade, o ser humano faz uso de plantas medicinais, para curar os males da época. Naquele tempo a ciência não era tão avançada como é hoje, então, uso destas plantas era feito de modo avulso, experimental, e observacionista. Como avanço científico, e de estudos sobre diversas plantas, o uso destas, na farmacologia vem aumentando a cada dia mais, como o Brasil tem uma vasta diversidade tem muitas plantas, as quais já foram desenvolvidos vários estudos e outras não. O presente trabalho buscou realizar extratos das folhas de Caesalpinia pyramidalis, bem como identificar classes de metabólitos secundários presentes nos extratos da planta conhecida como “catinga de porco” e com intuito de acrescentar informações sobre a composição destas e assim fortalecer futuras pesquisas sobre sua utilização. Foram identificados fenóis, taninos, saponinas, flavonóis, catequinas, esteroides, triterpenos e alcaloides no extrato bruto e na fração acetato de etila. Esses resultados estão de acordo com trabalhos encontrados na literatura, onde mostram a presença destes metabólitos secundários nas folhas de Caesalpinia pyramidalis. Concluindo assim que, as folhas de Caesalpinia pyramidalis são uma fonte potencial de compostos farmacologicamente ativos.
