Analisis Potensi Pemanfaatan Limbah Ampas Kopi Sebagai Produk bernilai Ekonomis

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pemanfaatan limbah ampas kopi sebagai bahan dasar produk padat dengan penambahan berbagai jenis bahan perekat. Metode yang digunakan adalah kajian literatur dengan pendekatan deskriptif analitis terhadap artikel ilmiah lima tahun terakhir yang diperoleh dari database seperti Google Scholar, SINTA, dan Scopus. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ampas kopi memiliki kandungan yang berpotensi dimanfaatkan dalam berbagai produk seperti briket, kompos, material komposit, kerajinan, hingga biofuel. Proses pengolahan umumnya meliputi pengeringan, penghalusan, pencampuran dengan perekat, pencetakan, dan pengeringan akhir, dengan variasi metode manual maupun mesin. Jenis perekat terbukti sangat memengaruhi kualitas produk, di mana perekat seperti tepung pati, molase, lignin, permen karet Xanthan, resin, putih telur, bentonite, lem PVA, poliuretan, urea-formaldehid dan resin fenol-formaldehid. Komposisi perekat yang optimal berada pada 10–20% untuk mencapai keseimbangan antara kekuatan dan efisiensi energi. Studi ini memberikan dasar untuk mengembangkan produk limbah kopi yang bernilai ekonomi dan ramah lingkungan.
