Children’s literature addressing disability reflects societal perceptions and plays a role in shaping young readers’ attitudes toward individuals with special needs. This study aims to analyze the representation of children with special needs in children’s literature by examining the models conveyed through their relationships with family and social surroundings. The findings indicate that the narrative by the Syrian writer Līnā Kīlānī presents a positive portrayal of the child with special needs and highlights the challenges of social integration as a collective societal responsibility rather than a family burden.
