FRUGIVORIA E DISPERSÃO DE SEMENTES POR LAGARTOS EM ECOSSISTEMAS BRASILEIROS

Abstract

O objetivo desse estudo foi reunir informações disponíveis na literatura sobre frugivoria e dispersão de sementes nos ecossistemas brasileiros, destacando a importância dos lagartos nesses eventos. Para encontrar relatos de frugivoria e dispersão de sementes foram consultados artigos publicados nas últimas duas décadas. Após a revisão bibliográfica foi possível contabilizar 65 artigos publicados nos últimos 19 anos. Esses estudos descreveram o comportamento frugívoro e/ou de dispersão de sementes, em sua maioria, para aves (32,4%), mamíferos (31,0%) e lagartos (29,6%). Contudo, maior esforço tem sido investido na tentativa de identificar as espécies de plantas consumidas por aves e mamíferos. Os ecossistemas que têm sido mais estudados no aspecto das relações de frugivoria e dispersão de sementes correspondem a Mata Atlântica (64,6%), Cerrado (18,5%), Caatinga (9,2%) e Floresta Amazônica (7,7%). Dentre os estudos com lagartos, 57,14% dos trabalhos foram realizados na Mata Atlântica, 23,81% na Caatinga e 19,05% na Floresta Amazônica.
