Calculadora de Riesgo Cardiovascular

Abstract

La calculadora de riesgo cardiovascular es una aplicación gratuita, que estima la posible incidencia a 10 años de un infarto de miocardio, accidente cerebrovascular o muerte cardiovascular. Incluye las seis regiones de América (Andina, Caribe, Central, Norte, Sur y Tropical) de acuerdo con las tablas publicadas en 2019 por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) (Lancet, 2019). Este puntaje de riesgo surgió de una extensa revisión de las cohortes disponibles y una adaptación a 21 regiones mundiales sobre la base del análisis de la carga de morbimortalidad cardiovascular. Para cada región se publicó una estimación que requiere conocer el valor de colesterol en sangre y otra alternativa ante su desconocimiento. La Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS), con la contribución financiera de los Centros de Prevención y Control de Enfermedades de EE. UU., transformó las tablas codificadas por colores publicadas en una calculadora electrónica en línea para su uso en computadoras y teléfonos inteligentes como actualización de la aplicación previa Cardiocal (2014).
