Pancreatitis en niña con tratamiento anticonvulsivante

Abstract

En la población pediátrica, el diagnóstico de pancreatitis es poco común. Se ha establecido una frecuencia de alrededor de 10 casos en 100 000 niños/año. La etiología biliar es la causa predominante, sin embargo, un porcentaje no menos importante (13%) se relaciona con medicamentos, y de estos, el ácido valproico (AVP) es la principal causa de pancreatitis en edad pediátrica. Presentamos el caso de una paciente de sexo femenino, de 6 años 10 meses, con crisis de ausencia y trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad (TDAH), en tratamiento con anticonvulsivantes, que ingresa por dolor abdominal intenso. Durante manejo se establece diagnóstico de pancreatitis. Se realiza tratamiento clínico, suspensión de medicación, con lo que se logra controlar el problema.
