Arquitectura de control modular de un exoesqueleto bimanual

Abstract

Cerca de 80 millones de personas en la UE, un sexto de su población, tienen alguna discapacidad. La accesibilidad es un derecho básico según el articulo 9 de la Convención de las Naciones Unidas, firmada por la Comisión Europea en 2010. El propósito de la accesibilidad es permitir que las personas con discapacidad vivan de forma independiente y participen plenamente en sociedad. El desarrollo de un exoesqueleto bimanual de asistencia, cuyo control pueda resolver la coordinación de ambos brazos, es clave en esta búsqueda de autonomía. A diferencia de los dispositivos unimanuales, que limitan el rango de acción, un sistema bimanual imita con mayor precisión el movimiento natural humano y permite realizar actividades mas complejas en el hogar. En este artículo se presenta la arquitectura de control diseñada para un exoesqueleto bimanual desarrollado para permitir al usuario realizar actividades coordinando ambos brazos. Se incluyen los principios de diseño y los diferentes modos de interacción considerados.
