Periodismo en plataformas digitales

Abstract

Mediante un enfoque multifacético, este capítulo examina cómo las plataformas digitales han impactado al periodismo contemporáneo. Contextualiza la transición del periodismo tradicional al digital y destaca el papel que ha desempeñado Internet en la transformación de las formas de producción, difusión y consumo de la información. A través de una revisión teórica y documental, el capítulo explora elementos clave del ecosistema informativo digital, incluyendo la convergencia tecnológica, los nuevos formatos narrativos, la visualización de datos y el periodismo inmersivo. Los resultados demuestran que la convergencia mediática ha abierto oportunidades para una mayor participación ciudadana, diversidad de géneros periodísticos y creatividad narrativa. Sin embargo, también se reconocen riesgos importantes, como la difusión de información falsa, la pérdida de fiabilidad y, especialmente, la sobrecarga informativa. El estudio también muestra cómo la relación entre periodistas, audiencias y el concepto de verdad informativa está cambiando debido al creciente uso de herramientas digitales, inteligencia artificial y plataformas transmedia. Para adaptarse al entorno tecnológico sin perder su función social, es necesario replantear los fundamentos éticos y epistemológicos del periodismo digital. El capítulo concluye que, además de habilidades técnicas altamente especializadas, el periodismo responsable en plataformas digitales requiere pensamiento crítico, conciencia ética y un renovado compromiso con la verdad, la verificación de hechos y el propósito social de la profesión.
