Se hace un estudio de la actividad de ribonucleasa (RNasa) sérica en 28 niños normales de 12 meses a 14 años encontrando cifras de 10,8 ± 1,83 U. En 38 sangres de cordón vimos valores de 20,4 ± 4,4 U y en doce niños con ictericia fisiológica del recién nacido fue de 31,5 ± 6,6 U. También se estudia la evolución que sigue la RNasa desde el nacimiento hasta los doce meses de edad, período de normalización de los niveles de la enzima.
