Leisure tourism is a rapidly growing field on a global scale and contributes to the increase in touristic mobility. This branch of tourism includes areas such as music, cultural festivals, adrenaline-boosting events, etc., where people try to entertain themselves in new and different areas to realize what they want to do in their free time or to get away from stressful moments. The aim of this study is to identify the development trends and research gaps in this field by revealing the geographical, institutional and temporal distribution of studies in the field of leisure tourism in the Web of Science database. The study is important in terms of mapping the scientific development of leisure tourism and providing direction for future research. For this purpose, bibliometric analysis was preferred as the research method. In this context, studies conducted between 2014 and 2024 were included for the review to be conducted. In the Web of Science database, it was determined that there were 532 publications on the subject of “leisure tourism”. Within the scope of bibliometric analysis, parameters such as publication year, publication types, institutions, authors, countries, citation reports, journal indexes, etc. were examined to reveal study profiles. VOSviewer 1.6.20 mapping program was used to create maps of the data. As a result of the research, it is seen that 81 publications on the subject of leisure tourism were published in 2021 and 79 in 2017. In addition, when the data is evaluated, it is seen that 406 publications in the related field are in the Book Citation Index - Social Sciences & Humanities (BKCI-SSH) index. It is recommended for academics to address this topic by searching other databases such as Scopus, PubMed, Ulakbim and TR Index.
