This article aims to demonstrate that individualistic globalized hyperconsumerism causes relevant impacts on the environment, generating increasingly frequent extreme weather events. It also seeks to identify strategies to reduce environmental impact. A new ethical paradigm for human being, Andean constitutionalism, the fight against planned obsolescence and the encouragement of economic decline are part of strategies to reduce environmental degradation. The inductive research method was used, with bibliographical research and records, starting from particular ideas such as the concepts of globalization, consumerism, individualism and extreme weather events to arrive at the general idea of the research that reducing unrestrained consumption reduces the impact to the environment.
