Turystyka miejska jako źródło protestów społecznych: przykłady Wenecji i Barcelony

Abstract

Wzrost znaczenia turystyki miejskiej jako siły zmieniającej miasta staje się źródłem konfliktów, szczególnie w miastach cennych pod względem kulturowym. Emanacją tych zmian są obserwowane w ostatnich latach w wielu miastach przybierające różne formy protesty mieszkańców przeciw niekontrolowanemu rozwojowi turystyki masowej. Celem artykułu jest wyjaśnienie głównych przyczyn oraz identyfikacja sposobów (w rozumieniu strategii i taktyk) oraz form protestów miejskich skierowanych przeciw rozwo jowi turystyki. Badania oparto o metodę studium przypadku protestów antyturystycznych odbywających się w dwóch miasta europejskich: Wenecji i Barcelonie. Badania przeprowadzono na źródłach wtórnych , zastosowano metodę opisową oraz fotograficzną. Sformułowa ne na tej podstawie wnioski dotyczą zmiany znaczenia turystyki jako współczesnej funkcji miejskiej oraz jako czynnika aktywizacji społecznej.

The growing significance of urban tourism as a force that transforms cities becomes a source of conflicts, especia lly in culture and heritage cities. Residents’ protests against the uncontrolled development of mass tourism, which take on various forms, have been observed as the results of these changes. The aim of the paper is to explain the main causes as well as to identify the methods (in terms of strategy and tactics) and forms of urban anti - tourist protests. The case study method was utilized to analyse protests against tourism in two European cities: Venice and Barcelona. The research was conducted on secondary sources, using a descriptive and photographic techniques. The conclusions drawn on this basis concern the change of the significance of tourism as a modern urban function and as a factor of social activation.
