Efectos de los agentes de remoción químico-mecánica a base de papaína en la dentina cariada de dientes primarios. Revisión de literatura

Abstract

La caries dental provoca la pérdida de minerales en los tejidos duros del diente, lo que afecta potencialmente el tejido pulpar. Los métodos tradicionales de remoción de caries pueden eliminar excesivamente la estructura dental, mientras que la odontología de mínima invasión, con el uso de métodos como la remoción químico-mecánica con papaína, ofrece una alternativa conservadora para preservar el tejido sano, especialmente en dientes primarios. Dado que los estudios in vitro en dientes primarios son limitados, el objetivo de la presente revisión es explorar los efectos de estos agentes en la dentina cariada de dientes primarios. Los agentes a base de papaína han mostrado eficacia en reducir bacterias, modificar la morfología dentinaria y preservar el contenido mineral. Sin embargo, se necesita más investigación para validar estos resultados y facilitar su implementación clínica.
