Impacto del Covid-19 en la salud mental de los profesionales de la salud

Abstract

La crisis sanitara provocada por el COVID-19 ha generado un impacto a nivel mundial en la salud mental de los profesionales, agravado por el colapso de los sistemas de salud, ante esta realidad resulta fundamental evaluar la percepción que tiene el personal sanitario sobre su propia salud mental. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar el impacto de la pandemia de COVID-19 en la salud mental de los profesionales de la salud, identificando los principales factores de riesgo y las estrategias de apoyo psicológico. Se realizó un estudio de enfoque cualitativo, con diseño descriptivo de tipo revisión bibliográfica; la población fue de 37 artículos científicos, con una muestra de 25 artículos originales de naturaleza cualitativa y cuantitativa, teniendo en cuenta publicaciones tanto en idioma inglés como en español y portugués, de las cuales 4 artículos pertenecieron a la base de datos de Elsevier, 9 de SciELO, 1 de PubMed, 3 de Dialnet, 4 de Google Scholar, 3 de Latindex y 1 de Bireme; se llevó a cabo un análisis y lectura crítica exhaustiva de manera inductiva. La pandemia de COVID-19 ha afectado considerablemente la salud mental de los profesionales sanitarios, manifestándose en factores de riesgo como el estrés laboral, la sobrecarga emocional y el miedo al contagio. Reconocer estos elementos y fomentar estrategias de apoyo psicológico es crucial para reducir las consecuencias y mejorar el bienestar de este grupo esencial en la atención sanitaria.
