Abstract: On December 3, 2018, Regulation 2018/302 (EU) of the Parliament and of the Council on measures to prevent unjustified geographical blocking and other forms of discrimination based on nationality, place of residence or location entered into force. establishment of customers in the internal market. The purpose of this communication is to carry out an analysis of the main situations that currently involve some type of restriction to the consumer within the common market, due to what is known as geographical blocking, placing special emphasis on the causes that bring this type of blocking as well as on the occasions in which the CJEU has ruled against it, thus delimiting this concept. In this way, an attempt will be made to limit the current framework of geographical blocking in the field of digital services offered within what is known as the digital single market. Ultimately, what this study seeks is to carry out a current approach to Regulation 2018/302 and the consequences that it has for consumers in the different Member States of the European Union with regard to the supply and consumption of digital goods and services. in any Member State.
