Analisa Kandungan Deksametason Dalam Jamu Penambah Berat Badan di Kota Bukittinggi Menggunakan Spektrofotometri UV-VIS

Abstract

Jamu penambah berat badan merupakan salah satu obat tradisonal yang biasanya digunakan untuk penambah nafsu makan. Salah satu bahan kimia obat yang sering ditambahkan ke dalam jamu penambah berat badan adalah deksametason. Efek samping Deksametason dalam jangka panjang dapat menimbulkan retensi cairan, glaukoma, hormonal dan sindrom cushing eksogen (iatrogenik). Sindrom ini menyebabkan wajah tampak bulat dan sembab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa kandungan bahan kimia obat deksametason dalam jamu penambah berat badan. Jamu penambah berat badan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu lima merk jamu yang diberi label A,B,C,D dan E yang beredar bebas di pasaran kota Bukittinggi. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling dan dianalisa secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil analisa menunjukkan sampel A,B,C,D dan E positif mengandung deksametason pada panjang gelombang maksimum 240 nm. Kadar rata-rata deksametason pada sampel jamu penambah berat badan A didapatkan sebanyak 0,767 %, jamu B sebanyak 0,802 %, jamu C sebanyak 0,773 %, jamu D sebanyak 0,877 % dan jamu E sebanyak 1,057 %. Dari data tersebut disimpulkan bahwa kelima sampel jamu penambah berat badan di kota Bukittinggi tidak memenuhi persyaratan obat tradisional berdasarkan Permenkes RI No.007 tahun 2012 tentang larangan penambahan bahan kimia obat pada obat tradisional.
