This study investigates the ecological dynamics of mosquito vectors in the swamp ecosystems of Desa Kebun Raya, Kecamatan Kintap, Kabupaten Tanah Laut, Kalimantan Selatan. An entomological survey was conducted to assess species composition, abundance, and larval indices in relation to the unique swamp habitat. Four mosquito species were identified: Culex quinquefasciatus, Culex tritaeniorhynchus, Aedes aegypti, and Aedes albopictus. The dominance of Culex species, particularly C. quinquefasciatus, suggests a strong adaptation to the swamp environment. Larval indices indicated a high risk of vector-borne disease transmission, with a House Index (HI) of 35%, Container Index (CI) of 0.14%, and Breteau Index (BI) of 64%. The study highlights the complex interactions between swamp ecology, mosquito population dynamics, and potential disease transmission risks in this understudied region of Indonesia.
